ABOVE THE CLOUDS
The Age of the Lion was released on the 17th of July, 2014 and was the Fifth Update of The Middle Way. This update is an experimentation with filtering as well as integration of music into the update. This would later influence future updates of the journal.
Although we did not move too far from the last update, the style of this city journal entry is much more light and more elegant than the usual black and red associated with other journal entries from The Middle Way. Here you can see a sprawling district in Okami, complete with a tight ramp towards the elevated roadway.
Normal flats at the the district. Between the two flats is the termini of the Kazusa Line, a private railway owned by Koei Railway Company. It was the former OR Okami Sekinuma Line before its sale in 1995.
Zuikoji. In the update, I did not name the temple for reasons that I would probably regret today. it's still one of my favourite creations and probably release a new version of it soon.
The town used in the update.
OTHER INFORMATION
MUSICIn the update, I used a very old soundtrack that came in the 1980s. Composed by Ozaki Ryudo, it was used in the 1980 Taiga Drama "Shishi no Jidai" (Age of the Lion). The title itself is a pun on the word "shishi", which can also mean the young samurai generation in the late 1800s during the Bakumatsu, which were instrumental in the collapse of the Tokugawa Bakufu.
©1980 NHK. I do not own the music and using it in educational purposes. Not for commercial distribution. |
