Okaiken (岡井県 Okaiken, officially the Imperial Kingdom of Okaiken), is a constitutional monarchy off the coast of Southeast Althena, bounded on the South by the Sukoyrian Strait, on the West by the Sea of Mitoyagi, on the East by the Cilician Ocean and on the North by the Katsuran Sea. The Okaiken Islands make a shape of the letter Y from the Island of Yagi, then splitting to 2 sections to form the islands of Haru and Iban. In addition, Okaiken includes 8 secondary islands and island groups: Kazan, Ameka, Gran Mitoy, and Awaji as well as 1000 lesser adjacent islands. The total area of Okaiken is 61,767.98 mi², the 3 main islands compromising 46,340.34 mi², the secondary islands and island groups 2,241.15 mi² and the remaining adjacent islands accounting for the remainder of the area. The population of Okaiken Proper is 59,970,897 (2010 Census).
Archaeological research indicates that people lived in Okaiken as early as the 10,000 to 20,000BC. The first written mention of Okaiken is in Peilanese history scrolls from the 1st century AD. Influence from other nations followed by long periods of isolation has characterized Okaiken's history. From the 12th century until 1870, Okaiken was ruled by successive feudal military dictatorships (shogunates) in the name of the Emperor. Okaiken entered into a long period of isolation in the late 16th century, which was only ended in 1859 when aShaydian fleet pressured Okaiken to open to the West. Nearly a decade of internal conflict and insurrection followed before the Saito Emperor was restored as head of state in 1871 and the Empire of Mitoyagi was proclaimed, with the Emperor as a divine symbol of the nation. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, victory in the First Peito-Sanese War, the Sukoy-Sanese War and the Mitoyagi-Morsco Conflict allowed Okaiken to expand its empire during a period of increasing militarism. After losing the Great Adonian War to the Allied Nations, Okaiken was allowed to be govened by the Emperor until a revolution in 1968 transformed Okaiken into a Federal Republic. The monarchy was restored in 2011 after a win of the monarchists. Since adopting its revised constitution in 2011, Okaiken has maintained a unitary constitutional monarchy with an emperor and an elected legislature called the Diet.
A major economic power, Okaiken has Adonia's third-largest economy by nominal GDP and the world's fourth-largest economy by purchasing power parity. It is also the world's fourth-largest exporter and fourth-largest importer. Although Okaiken has officially renounced its right to declare war until 2014, it maintains a modern military with the sixth largest military budget, used for self-defense and peacekeeping roles. Okaiken has the lowest homicide rate (including attempted homicide). According to Okaiken's health ministry, Sanese women have the second highest life expectancy of any country in the world.
